Inside the experimental unit known as "Emerald City" at Oswald State Penitentiary, a variety of inmates navigate a complex hierarchy comprising Homeboys, Latinos, Muslims, Irish, Aryans, and Wiseguys. While no single leader stands out, Kareem Saïd, a Muslim writer advocating for peace and abstinence, comes close. However, his presence doesn't stop the volatile Mafia inmate Dino Ortolani from irritating nearly everyone around him—a tendency that ultimately leads to his downfall.
