Plot
Raghu, a young freedom fighter, plants explosives on a railway track to destroy a train carrying British officers. After the successful attack, he returns home, only to be harshly rebuked by his wealthy father, a loyal British supporter. Raghu argues that his nation's freedom matters above all. When police arrive to arrest him, his father surrenders him, but Raghu's pregnant wife, Parvati, misleads the officers, allowing him to flee. Raghu escapes on his motorbike but crashes and is presumed dead. Parvati gives birth to a son, Ashok. Ten years later, estranged from her father-in-law, she still believes her husband is alive and will return.
