Waterdrop (2015)

Plot

In the shadow of Trisolaris’s impending assault, humanity abandons hope of victory and embraces a desperate gambit: the Wallfacer Project. Four individuals are granted unchecked authority and utter secrecy to devise counterstrategies, their true intentions hidden even from their own minds. Among them is Luo Ji, a cynical astronomer who grasps the universe’s brutal logic—a cosmic dark forest where survival demands preemptive annihilation. As his realization dawns, the fate of Earth hinges on a threat so absolute it may doom both civilizations, forcing a choice between silence and extinction.
